How Guard and Shield work together
The device is protected by the Guard licence of the user it is assigned to. Shield users log into that same protected device — their identity, Microsoft 365 access, and cloud activity are secured by their own Shield licence. No double-charging, no gaps.

Every managed device runs Microsoft Defender for Business — an enterprise-grade endpoint detection and response platform powered by Microsoft's global threat intelligence and AI. Included in both Guard and Shield.

No user has administrator access to their own machine. Every installation attempt is intercepted and sent to our team for approval — eliminating the majority of malware infection routes. Applied at the device level, so every Shield user on that machine is automatically protected too.
