Stephen was a Dragon for the night

I was very honoured to be invited by the Livingston Round Table to help give away some money to local Charities. My role in this event was to be one of three Dragons in a Dragons’ Den type charity event. A total of 40 charities applied to take part and a final 10 were invited to put forward a pitch on why their charity deserved the top prize of £2,000. The Round Table also put together a runners up prize of £1000.

The 10 finalists each presented their cases and left the Dragons with a difficult task to select a winner. All 10 finalists walked away with £250.00 for their efforts so no-one left empty handed.

The Runner Up (£1000)

Sign Post provide families with free days out for families of young people with disabilities or additional needs in West Lothian. Last year they provided 200 free days out to local attractions like Livingston Mill Farm and Five Sisters Zoo. They were hoping to double the number of passes they could give out and were applying for funds towards this goal. The donation from the Round Table should help them make this a reality.

Livingston Round Table do a fantastic job raising funds for charities and this particular event helps highlight the needs for charitable donations.
